The Clack Family

Doug Clack Trucking Co. is all about family, and trucking has been a big part of ours for more than a century. Take a look below to get to know more about Doug and his family and learn how his trucking company is part of a family tradition.

Meet the Clack Family

Doug is very thankful for his beautiful family. His wife, Cynthia 45, Thomas 22, Abigail 19, Anna 11, Esther 6, Lydia 5, and Naomi 5 months.

Doug used to fuel his grandfather’s trucks for 45.00 per day. In 1984, he purchased his first truck and has only grown from there. As you can see from the pictures below, Doug comes from a long line of proud truckers—and he continues that tradition to this very day.

Oscar Thomas Clack and a Helper

Doug’s great grandfather—Oscar Thomas Clack—and a helper approximately 1930.

Thomas Golden Clack and Dorsey Hamm

Thomas Golden Clack with helper Dorsey Hamm. Golden (Doug’s grandfather)—1912–2001—had his own trucks to haul rock, sand, dirt, and gravel. His father, Tommy Clack (who owned and drove trucks all his life), told stories of Golden using mules and wagons to haul materials when he worked on the Fox Theater in Atlanta years ago.

Doug’s Son Thomas Clack

Doug’s son Thomas Clack, born 1987, and seen here with his single axle truck. Maybe one day he will take over and continue the lineage of proud truckers?
